A Graphically Illustrated Kindle Fire HD 8 Guide: For Non-Computer Generations Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 21 ratings

This guide is written for people who have little or no experience operating a computer.

It provides a
step by step plan for the reader to have success in operating a Kindle Fire HD 8 (5th generation) and to experience the many joys and helps that come from this magnificent device.

Case Studies:

One 77-year-old man in our test group has had a very serious heart operation. One hand ended up partially paralyzed and he reported he was having difficulty now lifting his paper Bible. He wanted to learn to use a Kindle. He began using the guide we wrote which is "Graphically Illustrated", step by step with both pictures and words showing how to do everything.

His wife reported the following:
"John is very impressed. He can understand everything as we go along and the pictures of each step are a life saver. What a wonderful concept!"

An 80-year-old woman in our test group just lost her 94-year-old husband. She decided to learn to use the Kindle using our "Graphically Illustrated" guide. She has many physical problems and walks with walker. She, too, had very strong success in learning to use the Kindle. Now she uses her Kindle all the time for emails, music, books, games ...

Can you imagine how much this means to her at this point in life?

All you have to do is learn to use the Kindle.
And with this book, we believe you can do it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely well written and easy to use manual
Reviewed in the United States on 30 May 2016
Comparing this book with a few of the other Kindle manuals offered on Amazon, I preferred this one because print is larger and written lines are spaced farther apart on the pages so it is not intimidating to me to start reading.

Also like use of color and highlighting in the text...seems to make instructions easier to follow. More user friendly than others I looked at. Written in an easy to understand way.

Large graphics and emojis also make it more appealing to the eyes. And flows nicely from one subject to another. This is easily seen in the Table of Contents. Deals with practical things concerning using Kindle Fire 8 that older users especially would want and need to know.

I especially liked that you were led to practice using the different aspects of the kindle fire as you read about them. It doesn't cover Alexa tho.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good user guide

As a computer user of many years I'm a 1st time Kendle Fire user. I bought another get started book but it was more technical or at least difficult for me to understand, no pictures either. I like this book better with pictures even tho in b& W it is easier to learn. Whatever happened to books with an Index or glossary?

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to read and follow
Reviewed in the United States on 21 April 2016
Easy to read and follow. I would not have taken the time to research and learn how to listen to music, play games, use the camera, etc from other, more complicated books. The Kindle Fire 8 can do so much more than a simple e-reader and this book shows you how to get the most out of it in a very easy to follow format.
