    This is a very engaging romance, that has a steamy plot. The characters are all powerful in their conception, with the main two having an emotional path to navigate to achieve their desires. The extended epilogue gives you an insight into how their life together develops. I read an ARC copy.

    Patience Fairhurst seems destined to marry the honorable Earl of Essex, Maxwell Palmer, a man she has been friends with for a long time. But then she meets a carriage driver who is insulting, but seductive at the same time. He turns out to be the Earl’s best friend, Frederick Asheton, the Duke of Lutton. Patience and Frederick both try to fight their attraction for each other – not wanting to hurt their best friend.

    Another winner from Ms Langton. She always writes the best stories and her heroine / hero are very believable. Love the descriptions as well as the story line - draws you in and you don't want to put your book down till you reach the end of the story.

    Would definitely recommend Dazzled by a devilish Duke for all romance readers who are addicted to a beautiful story of love and respect and affection.

Many obstacles loom to sever the relationship and both must examine their feelings under pressure from family and society. How there is a resolution makes for an entertaining story for lovers of this genre

    Even before Freddie showed up, she’d never intended to marry Maxwell. However, with pressure from her parents and Maxwell’s insistence, she probably would have. Twice, she let Maxwell know that she was into Freddie, both times she was ignored by her parents and Maxwell- the wrong wedding set to take place. The kink in this story is Maxwell’s Uncle Palmer, who wants the marriage to go forward because of her father’s wealth, since he has no male heir. To this end, he ambushes Freddie with hired muscle and beats him up, told worse will happen if he doesn’t stay away from Patience. Patience, however runs into him on the street and follows him home. Maxwell sends him a wedding invite, he crashes their party and confronts him, together they talk to her and make her choose. Maxwell leaves. When Freddie returns the next day to talk to her father, Palmer, his thugs and Maxwell are waiting, and just as they’re getting ready to beat him again, Patience comes out and begs Maxwell to stop this, he refuses. Her father, then comes out, finally sees the light and is upset with Maxwell and Palmer. He tells them to leave, he knew Palmer was sleazy, but upset to see Maxwell’s participation in this debacle. Finally they’re free to love each other, but the friendship will never be the same. Enjoyed this story, had some problems with a few sentences that seemed to be missing a word or two, for them to make sense.

    I thoroughly enjoyed this Regency romance with great characters, romance and. Lady Constance had been friends with an Earl for years and everyone expected them to marry, but she only saw him as a friend. Then his best friend, A Duke, comes to visa nd he and Constance are intr. They are attracted, and it causes complications. The ending was great. I voluntarily reviewed an advance review copy.
