Sunday Times Top Ten bestselling novelist Trisha Ashley writes romantic comedies and her latest book, The Wedding Dress Repair Shop, was published in 2023 by Transworld. Her next novel, The Christmas Retreat, is coming soon!

Her novels have twice been shortlisted for the Melissa Nathan Award for Romantic Comedy, as well as two shortlists and one win (in 2024) of the Romantic Novelists Association Popular Romantic Fiction Award. Every Woman for Herself was also nominated by magazine readers as one of the top three romantic novels of the last fifty years.

She is from St Helens in West Lancashire, and believes that her typically dark Lancashire sense of humour in adversity, crossed with a good dose of Celtic creativity from her Welsh grandmother, has made her what she is today... whatever that is.

Several of her novels are set in rural West Lancashire, West Yorkshire and Wales. They frequently explore aspects of the three elements that are a constant in her own life: Food, Flowers and Friendship, and include delicious recipes at the back.

Nowadays she lives in North Wales and is the founder member of Novelistas Ink, a group of novelists, several of whom are bestselling, who meet regularly in North Wales.

She is a long-term member of the Society of Authors.

I love Trisha Ashley books but I was a bit disappointed with this one as I have already read Chocolate Shoes and Wedding Blues.

I rediscovered Trisha Ashley recently so bought this.
Trouble is, both stories are very very similar. Too similar to count as separate books. Both set in the same village, both heroines had feckless single mothers, both had awful boyfriends who treated them badly, both had their own businesses which seemed to run very easily, no nights spent catching up on accounts, tax etc.
Both found new loves, but were bothered by useless exes both aiming for happy ever after.
I felt on reading the second I had read it all before. Very disappointed. I think I may let Ashley’s book sink back into the forgotten cupboard again.

Maybe there have been too many stories of the children of poor parenting, rekindling lost loves when they return to magical Sticklepond, consequently only a 3!

rehashed books a bit disappointing as read most of them before

I bought this thinking I was going to be reading new Trisha Ashley books but I have already read both of the books contained in the set. Gave it 5 stars because the books are good just don't be disillusioned into thinking it is a new book. The two books in this set are Chocolate Shoes and Wedidng Blues and Chocolate Wishes.
