'Bodyguard: Assassin' is the fifth book in the series, and is aptly named 'Assassin' as Bradford sure aims for his readers' hearts!
While not the best book in the series so far, it has its signature myriad of events, and sees Connor Reeves as its main character once again. Though I did really enjoy having the previous book from Charley's perspective, it was good to get back to Connor's adventures in the present.

The premise of the book is that Connor and Jason would be protecting the son of a Russian Politician. This is obviously a similar set up as the other books, but is made different by the fact that the principal isn't the most likeable person. Also, it shows valuable development of other characters in the series: Charley, Jason, and Colonel Black. It was interesting to see Jason and Connor working together, and how their teamwork both helped and hindered the mission. If you are unfamiliar with the role Mr Grey has played in Connor's previous three missions it is probably worth rereading them as his character is heavily involved in the new book. Again, Bradford once more shows the complexities of his characters as he shows that heroes and villains aren't entirely good or entirely evil.

The bodyguard series is famous for its plot twists, and 'Assassin' maintains this. While the main plot twist is indeed predictable if you pay close attention, it is nonetheless satisfying for the reader to see it play out, and the reactions of the characters in the book.

All in all 'Bodyguard: Assassin' delivers what it sets out to do: gives readers another thrilling mission to go along on, shocks them with multiple plot twists, and ultimately continues the series with another fantastic instalment!

another thrilling adventure from the perspective of the teenage bodyguard conor reeves

I liked how we went back to the present for this book. I did like hearing from charleys perspective but i think i am just more used to hearing from conors perspective.

In the book conor goes to russia to pretect felix malkov but not everything is as as it seems...

In russia no one can be safe not even conor and jason but maybe both will make it out alive. I know this review is a bit long but I hope you want to buy this book if you do buy it you've made the right choice. I would reccomend it to 10yr olds like myself enjoy reading ;)

This is the fifth book in the series, Colonel Black assigns Jason and Connor to protect Feliks 15yrs the son of Viktor Malkov a politician who opposed the Russian government, two bodyguards of Viktor met them at the airport, at school with Feliks two large Russian boys Stas and Vadik often bullied him, they met a girl called Anastasia at lunch, there were attempts by Vostiks enemies to take Feliks but Connor and Jason stopped them, Victor is arrested for tax evasion, Stas and his friends had Feliks surrounded, Connor and Jason arrive to beat them off

More attempts are made to kidnap Feliks, in the school toilet he is taken and put in a room, it was Stas and his friends, needlies were put through Feliks hands and neck as he was tortured, Connor and Jason rescue him, Viktor decides all should go to his country estate, next day they go hunting on snowmobiles, they rode into an ambush, the Bratva were attacking them, few get back to the country house alive, the house is set on fire and they are sent to the celler, the house is burning with no way out, the story twists and turns to reach its ending

My verdict, the best of the authors books so far, worth a read

Another spectacular Chris Bradford book. This time Connor and Jason are in Russia, protecting the unsociable son of a Russian billionaire. What makes this book unlike the others is that Feliks isnt actually very nice. In fact he is a spoiled brat. It doesnt help that Jason is slacking off, and has fallen for the new girl in school. There are plot twists galore, action and romance. In other words this would be a great movie.

Chris Bradford has done it again! His books truly cast a spell on you in that they are impossible to put down when you've begun reading them. Connor's most recent adventure certainly took a much darker tone than the previous instalments but that only made for a much more thrilling read. Now my long wait begins for book 6.
I cannot recommend this enough for those who are on the lookout for a fantastic adventure with plenty of twists and turns.

fantastic book! I'm giving it to my brother as part of his birthday present, would recommend to anyone who enjoys the CHERUB and Alex Rider series, or teenaged explosive action written by a guy who wants reminisce on his teenage years and capture the whole essence of being one incorrectly. nevertheless the book itself is good, but the characters need a little bit more development
