About the authors
Gordon Grice has written about the dark corners of biology for The New Yorker (where he tackled the history of post-mortem dissections), Harper’s (black widow spiders), and Discover (leprosy). He also writes horror stories, including the Best of the ‘Net winner “The White Cat” and the Year’s Best Fantasy and Horror runner-up “Hide.”
He has taught the literature of horror at California Institute of Arts, the University of Minnesota, and the University of St. Thomas. He has also taught interdisciplinary courses on the science and literature of homicide and of man-eating animals.
Julie Frost grew up an Army brat, traveling the globe. She thought she might settle down after she finished school, but then she married a pilot and moved six times in seven years. She's finally put down roots in Utah with her family--her husband and son, a herd of guinea pigs, and a "kitten" who thinks she's a warrior princess--and a collection of anteaters and Oaxacan carvings, some of which intersect. She enjoys birding and nature photography, which also intersect, and managed to photograph 500 bird species in the US in 2023. Utilizing her degree in biology, she writes werewolf fiction while completely ignoring the physics of a protagonist who triples in mass. She also writes other things, on occasion, as the fancy strikes her.
Her short fiction has appeared in Weird WWIV, Straight Outta Dodge City, Monster Hunter Files, Galaxy's Edge, Writers of the Future, The District of Wonders, StoryHack, Unlikely Story, Stupefying Stories, and too many anthologies to count. Her novels are available on Amazon, and you can find her on Facebook.
Made in DNA is a fiction-grinding American immigrant barreling along ever-forking alternate reality tangents of an abandoned Japanese utopia. His work is unadulterated, unapologetic and self-indulgent fare reminiscent of Heavy Metal magazine, Penthouse Comix, Epic Illustrated and 2000AD. For entertainment purposes only.
Jamie Lackey lives in Pittsburgh with her husband and their cats. She enjoys reading, writing, tabletop role playing games, video games, watching anime, baking, hiking, and mushroom hunting.
She has over 160 short fiction credits, and her short stories have appeared in places like Daily Science Fiction, Beneath Ceaseless Skies, Apex Magazine, Escape Pod, and Orson Scott Card's Intergalactic Medicine Show. Her fiction has appeared on the Best Horror of the Year Honorable Mention and Tangent Online Recommended Reading Lists, and she's a member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America.
Her longer works include two novellas, Moving Forward: A Novella of Life After Zombies and The Forest God, as well as her debut novel, Left Hand Gods. She also has four short story collections available: One Revolution: A Year of Flash Fiction; Second Revolution: Another Year of Flash Fiction; The Blood of Four Gods and Other Stories; and A Metal Box Floating Between Stars and Other Stories.
She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford in 2006 with a degree in Creative Writing. She studied under James Gunn at the Center for the Study of Science Fiction's Writer's Workshop in 2010 and has taken various workshops with Cat Rambo.
She read submissions for the Hugo-winning Clarkesworld Magazine for five years and was an assistant editor for the Hugo-winning Electric Velocipede from 2012-2013. She served as editor for Triangulation: Lost Voices in 2015 and Triangulation: Beneath the Surface in 2016.

Roxana Arama is an award-winning Romanian American author. She studied computer science in Bucharest, Romania, and moved to the United States to work in software development. Her short stories and essays have been published in many literary magazines, and her debut legal thriller, Extreme Vetting, was an Editor's Pick from Publishers Weekly (BookLife) and won several book awards. Her second novel is The Exiled Queen: A Roman Era Historical Fantasy. She lives in Seattle, Washington, with her family.

Richard Zwicker is an English teacher living in Vermont, USA, with his wife and beagle. Some of his over seventy-five published short stories have appeared in such ezines as "Heroic Fantasy Quarterly," "Mythic," "Mystery Magazine," and other semi-pro markets. Humor and seriousness often fight to a draw in his writing and life. In addition to reading and writing, he likes playing the piano, jogging (especially after he finishes), and fighting the good fight against middle age. Despite living in Brazil for eight years, he is still a lousy soccer player.
