The Wisteria Wedding: The Old Bat Chronicles Book 3 Kindle Edition

5.0 5.0 out of 5 stars 7 ratings

Spring is the perfect time for romance, and the residents of Bramble Lane are looking forward to the wedding of neighbours Margaret and Ronan. To add to the excitement, the Merrion Literary Festival brings famous author Humphrey Sterling to Dublin, to the delight of the senior ladies of the area.
While Dymphna and the Wise Women fawn over their favourite writer, Eve is busy helping with wedding preparations - until a terrible crime threatens to derail everything.
As old secrets are uncovered, Eve realizes that there is a force of malice and hate at work behind the scenes. With Greta Goode and Humphrey Sterling both implicated in murder, and the young couple's happiness under threat, Eve and the Old Bats must work their magic to save the day.
But can they solve the crime before the big day - or will there even be a Wisteria Wedding?

This book entire me from start to finish.
It has a flow that just brings the reader along engaging with the reader.
    Excellent book.

The third in this wonderful series takes us back to Bramble Lane in time for the Merrion Literary Festival, plus preparations for the day when Margaret and Ronan tie the knot. And pretty soon, Eve and her friends find themselves embroiled in another murder, one that is very close to home for some. With uptight organisers, probing reporters, some wonderful comments on the state of the literary world and the usual mix of twists, red herrings and subtle (or less subtle) use of magic by the Old Bats, this is an absolute delight. I read it in one sitting and can highly recommend it.

This book was a delight to read and as with the previous two books in this series I can thoroughly recommend it.
As ever, the Old Bat Chronicles series features Eve Caulton and the residents of Bramble Lane. The story is a cosy crime with a twist. Calling upon the author’s extensive knowledge of Irish folklore we have a hint of the magical within the story. The Old Bats of the title are four elderly ‘wise women’ who may use their powers to influence outcomes or maybe are simply wise in reading situations and dealing with people. This is story full of clues, red herrings and not a little humour as Eve and the Old Bats pull together various pieces of information leading to motive and killer. There is also a wedding being planned while this is happening and is itself not without its difficulties. One particularly appealing feature is the Irish voice that permeates the text with a glossary to help.

Happiness is another installment of The Old Bat Chronicles. In this third adventure of the Old Bats, there is going to be a wedding, but more important there is a murder at the local literary festivaland the Old Bats must solve itso that the weddinf can take place as scheduled.
If you're feeling down the Old Bats are bound to cheer you up with their antics.
Apart from a fun story and a good dose of humour, there is much to be learned in this book about Irish wedding traditions and superstitions.
This is another winner in this series and I can't wait for the next installment.
