- Reviewed in the United States on August 13, 2014Karma: Retribution is the first book in what is a promising new series. This original and gripping plot designed by Author Thaddeus Knight takes you on an unexpected and wild ride. The story centers around an new idea for dealing with criminals. Five death row inmates are selected to be the first to experience life in Prison Space. Here not only are their bodies housed but also their minds. These five men are up against seemingly unbeatable odds that torture them as they seek escape. Knight’s descriptive nature allows the reader to become fully immersed in his world. The characters are fully developed and captivating. The plight of the characters and their duality is suspenseful and thought-provoking. This is one series you want to miss. I highly recommend it and am anxiously awaiting Karma: The Awakening!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 1, 2018Jim is ruthless, immoral, unethical, bigoted, racist and without a soul. Taken right from the reality of one of the worse human beings in modern history, Donald Trump must have been the template for the main character. Too close to the horror America lives each day.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 1, 2018This piece of trash (even though it was free) will take time you will never get back.
The premise is creative - though derivative of The Matrix and other similar memes - digitization of people into artificial environments.
Why the author calls this "Space Prison" since it's not in space, is a mystery.
He also conflates teleportation with reducing bodies to a digital state (even though he's completely unclear on how this is done - not that I need a schematic; but some reasonable back story would be nice).
But the most irritating trait Knight has is ignoring basic writing rules when he constantly jumps from present to past tense in the same paragraph and in the same scene. He's not trying to change the scene, Knight just seems to forget where he is in writing it.
All of his characters are thoroughly unlikeable and he seems to populate his entire story with antagonists and no protagonists.
Do not download this even if it is free.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 24, 2018This book is one of the quickest books I have read. The different characters and their background stories were well written. I would recommend this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2018This book definitely could convince you of such! Well written, not overly explicit but enough details to leave you wanting more!! Well done to the author
- Reviewed in the United States on April 6, 2015This is the first book in a promising new series. The story was a fast paced, good read. I finished it in one sitting. I look forward to reading the next book in the series, Karma: The Awakening!
