“This man is simply scary. There is both a clinical thoroughness and a heartfelt emotional thoroughness to his writing. He manages to shock as well as empathize, to scare as well as acclimatize, yet beneath it all is a well read intelligence that demands to be engaged. I loved Blood Related. Ordinarily I hate serial killer stories, but William Cook won me over. He is a unique and innovative talent.” – Joe McKinney, Bram Stoker Award-winning author of Flesh Eaters and Dog Days

Burnt Offering is dark and vicious. My first by Cook. This book also has a bonus story (I didn't care as much for) and an interview with author. A good starting point for new readers like me.

This is a quick but good read. In the short amount of time it took to read the book you can also experience the emotions of the characters.

William Cook presents a story of serious horror, delivered with gut punch realism. Becky lives a life of constant abuse at the hands of her step-father and the negligence of her mother. Constant physical abuse drives her to live a life in her own head until she finds the strength to put an end to it. The story is interesting and takes turns that I honestly did not expect, twists that are well realized. The villain of the story is truly disgusting and in just a few pages the reader comes to hate him. The story closes with a cathartic act of extreme violence that wraps the tale up nicely.

William Cooks short horror fiction brings to the fore real life horror. A short revenge tale and another much more melancholy story make for a satisfying and quick read. Dig it

Full of twists and a few really good turns from the first story. Very enjoyable, looking at purchasing the expanded edition of the story and many more stories from the author.
