The Go Code Protocol (Paul Decker Assignment Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 30 ratings

The briefcase, AKA the football, containing the go codes for the U.S. nuclear arsenal is carried by military aides who always accompany the President and Vice-President.

In a strike on Washington, a terrorist group known as “Black Bear” gets away with the prize, killing many secret service agents and almost killing Captain Paul Decker: the officer charged with protecting the football.

Black Bear breaks the encryption code, and opens a “trap door” into the nation’s ICBM network…and is auctioning off targeted missile strikes.

Many countries, both friend and foe, along with a dozen terrorist organizations, want what Black Bear has. And it’s all for sale!

Paul Decker assembles his own team to go after the perpetrators. But he finds that everyone, including his hand-chosen people, has their own agenda.

My books do not just entertain, they are all based on current events in the world: Capture of the Go Code that control the nuclear missiles ("The Go Code Protocol"), government spying ("The Patriot Betrayal"), cyber warfare (Web War One") , dangerous experiments at CERN on the large hadron collider): ("The CERN Revelation"): genetic engineering: ("The Eugenics Solution"), fighting ISIS: ("The Mouth of Allah"), rescuing the kidnapped school girls from Boko Haram in Nigeria: ("Year of the Crocodile"), the drug wars in Mexico: ("To Live and Die in Juarez"), liberating the internment camps in North Korea ("Code 6 North of the DMZ"), first alien contact: ("Message from Ceti-Alpha-6"), the precarious nature of the European Union and the Euro: ("The Euro Option") the use of eugenics to control population growth: ("The Eugenics Solution"), the coming battle between Cyborgs vs. Humans: ("A Dystopian Tale"), a story of heroics, determination and sacrifice on the world's tallest mountain: ("The Death Zone") Finally, "The Kremlin Insider", book 16 in the Paul Decker Assignments series, one Code 6 agent's effort to overthrown the Vladimir Putin regime.

Also, I have done dozens of videos on YouTube trying to wake people up as to what is really going on in our country and the world. (No, the government is not doing all the spying to catch terrorists, they're spying because they believe that the people might rise up and overthrow the government). And unless you are (at least one step ahead of technology, computers and robotics will soon take away that job you thought was secure.

I am not in this strictly for the money. I want to change circumstances in the world, touch hearts, alter thinking, make a difference, create better, honest government, expose polluters, uncover corruption in government and theshow the greed of transnational corporations.

Imagine a terrorist group that has been able to steal America's nuclear power. How? They've stole the 'go codes', which are essentially the codes that will launch nuclear missile strikes from the US nuclear arsenol anywhere in the world. In this book, that scenario happens. The man in charge of the go codes is named Paul Decker. The terrorist group who took them is called Black Bear. And it's Paul Decker's responsibility to make sure that the US nuclear arsenal is not used by Black Bear, and the world stays safe in turn.

Black Bear is more greedy than politically inspired. They want money and fame- not power. So they're auctioning off the ability for countries and organizations to call nuclear strikes on targeted areas. And many countries around the world are pulling in. They want a piece of the action, a piece of America's nuclear power and many of them are willing to give up a lot to have it. Paul Decker has to fight through both friendly nations and enemy nations, and he has to save the world in return.

Within the first two chapters this book picks itself up to a pace that will have you gripping to the pages and reading along for the ride. The main character, Paul Decker, is what I'd call a modern American 'James Bond'. He's in charge of one of the most important government secrets of all time, and now that secret's been put in jeopardy. In turn, his story is a fast-paced race for the nuclear go codes. This book has a bit of everything. Drama, action, suspense, and a political voice that truly makes you think about America's nuclear power and how it could potentially affect the entire world if it got into the wrong hands.

This was a brilliant read. So much more than an action novel, and yet so much more entertaining than a politically-provoked piece. It's a mixture of everything, and it'll have you turning pages until you reach the very end.

Usually, I get lost reading political thrillers. Keeping track of a person who was introduced in the first chapter and returns a 100 pages later is frustrating.

The author starts each chapter with a time and place to keep the reader focused. Plus, before a character speaks, the takes a few sentences to orient the reader.

The Go Code Protocol, is a fast pace novel that follows Paul Decker as he tries to recover the president’s suitcase that contains the launch codes for nuclear missiles.

If you like political thrillers, I highly recommend the Go Code Protocol.

A pretty good read although kinda farfetched. The action and plot are good but I keep going back to how easy it was to get the football. I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen in real life. But all in all, even with its shortcomings, still an enjoyable book. Go figure?!

Kept me up all night reading!
This political thriller takes you around the world in an all-too-real threat that could cause World War III. Paul's life and credibility is endangered when he loses the football chained to his wrist. Black Bear grabs the 'to go codes' that can launch U.S. military weapons against their enemies, Russia, North Korea, and Iran. Paul must stop the launch, save a government coo and protect the world from going back to the stoneage. I can't wait for book 3.

I have read the Paul Decker series. The first book in the series had grammar and spelling errors in it which kept dragging me out of the plot flow. That trend has continued in book 2 and 3. If those kind of issues don't bother you, the series plots are reasonably good and the action scenes are interesting.

I read the The Patriot Betrayal and was excited to see Mr. Weiss had come out with the sequel. The pacing is fast and there are more than a few surprises in this espionage thriller. Paul Decker is a fun character and I'm looking forward to reading what he (and his team) go up against in his next book.

After reading THE PATRIOT BETRAYAL,I couldn't wait for this author's second book. I was not disappointed. Paul Decker raced around the world, one step behind "Black Bear", a group of mercenaries intent on deploying America's nuclear arsenal for their own purposes.Believable,intricate,worrisome.It felt all too real.I can't wait for the third book.
