1) Why I chose this book : Massive Christmas compilation including short stories making it a runaway bargain
2) Type of book : Heaping holiday hoard
3) Formatting/Editing : Has an active toc but sure wish it was alphabetized given the volume (can always use the 'search this book' feature if you know what you want to read).
4) Best/Worst aspect of book : Am enjoying the periodic illustrations provided with the stories and includes many of my favorite shorts worth rereading such as "The Steadfast Tin Soldier " , "The Snow Queen" and "A Kidnapped Santa Claus" to name a few
5) Favorite passage : Far too many to name here, but when book description mentioned the words 'beloved Christmas novels, tales and carols" they weren't kidding
6) Bottom-line : If looking for a massive collection to last you the entire Christmas season this is the best one I've found to date for the price!

being entertained by authors with stories that are not dependent on sensationalism; or violent 'blood & gore', (or) vulgar explicted sex scenes, explosions, car chases or vampires. YET, they had the ability to tell a UNIQUE story that captures your imagination and holds your attention.
Some are better than others, some are difficult because of the Old English/customs. But, overall they very worthy of the time spent and, they are definitely NOT 'cookie cutters'.
con: The subsections of the index can be a bit confusing.
