Review
The Black History Activity Packs for Young Learners is amazing! It's easy to read, easily comprehensible - you don't have to feel like you are a teacher or you have a master's degree to understand it. The graphic representations are very age-appropriate, captivating and eye-catching. The instructions are spot on explaining how to deliver the content and checks for understanding. Included activities have purpose, presenting high expectations for the children using the curriculum.
The figures featured highlight very easily comprehensible points children can remember without throwing the whole book and their entire life story at the child. The curriculum pulls out some key points, presented in a beautiful way and the activities definitely surround these characters. By the time the child finishes, it's a pleasurable learning experience.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 27, 2020I used this unit with my 6 year old and was actually able to bring my 8 year old in on it as well by adding a few extra steps for her. The activities are fun and easy to implement, and I love all of the visual and auditory extras incorporated in them. It was also great to have a fully built-out unit about an African American historical figure they weren't already familiar with. I received a free copy of the Gwendolyn Brooks unit in exchange for sharing my opinions in this review, but I look forward to purchasing more materials from Goose Goose Duck in the future!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 16, 2020I had the opportunity to received a free copy so I could provide honest feed back. I initially sought out the activity pack for my niece, but my kids are used to doing family style learning, so my 8 & 10 year old enjoyed as well. The activity pack was very thorough, yet thoughtfully laid out in a way that The Littles could appreciate it, but guess what, my kids loved it too. The activity pack accompanied with the media clips are sure to keep your little engaged. The songs about African American history are sure to stick as they are tuned to common nursery rhymes.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 16, 2020I received a free copy of this activity pack in exchange for a review. I was thoroughly pleased with the activities. The lesson plans were nicely thought out, and easy to follow. There were a variety of lessons that you could select from, or do all of them. We especially loved the video attached with the lesson. It was great tool to spark my children’s interest in the particular subject. I look forward to using the packet again, with my other children.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 16, 2020I was quite surprised when I received this activity packet. We usually do not use much media in our homeschooling however, I think this could be an exception. The material was presented in a developmentally appropriate manner while providing the culture of black history I was looking for. This can easily be adapted for children up to third or fourth grade. I received this product for free in exchange for an honest review.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 17, 2020I was lucky enough to receive this for free for an honest review. I like the packet it was easy to follow I have two under 5 and they were both able to participate in some of the activities. The activities we're interesting and long enough to feel like a lesson but short enough to maintain my child's attention span. All the things required for preparation of this packet are easily found in your household/pantry. Loved learning about someone new. Gave 4 stars the packet was great was not a real big fan of the music videos.
