John and Tess had a love that should have withstood time. Life, and people, got in the way.

Then: Judge Edwards looks me straight in the eyes and says, “John Davis, you’ve been given a second chance, don’t blow it. It may not feel like it right now, but someday you will look back and be thankful for this.”
When I turn to look at Tess, who is standing beside her father, my heart begins to shatter. What will I do without her? How will I breathe, let alone function? Even though we aren’t really family, she’s the closest person I have to a family.
Tess pushes around her father to run to me, throwing herself into my arms. “I’m so sorry,” she is crying, “I love you so much. Remember that. I’ll be waiting.”
“No, Tess,” I say. “Don’t wait on me.

Now: “John,” Tess says. “I didn’t know you were in town.”
“I just arrived a couple of hours ago. I need food for the house.” I say, while staring at how beautiful she is.
“You know my mommy?” asks the little girl who is now standing by her mother. She looks a lot like Tess, but she looks a lot like someone else I know, I just can’t place who.
I answer the little doll baby, “Yes, I know your mommy. My name is John.”
“John is my Daddy’s name. You look kind of like him.” The little cutie says.

The threat: Someone is after my family. The family I just found, the family I didn’t know I had. The family I will do anything to protect. The Military taught me well. I am the unknown variable. My Mission is to protect those I love.

I am happy to announce that my 4th book, Love's Mission, has released!

I thoroughly enjoy writing romance with a little suspense and action added in. For those of you who enjoy reading detailed physical intimacy, I tried to provide that in my 2nd and 3rd books. I have realized that is not my comfort zone, so I have returned to romance that stops just short of detailing that, leaving some things to the imagination. Therefore, Love's Mission is much like Sealing the Deal, bringing you to a point where you hope the characters are enjoying themselves.

I recently left my career as an Elementary School Teacher for a much-needed break from the double-time work that is required of teachers. This break has given me the opportunity to try my hand at writing, which I love. So, if you have read either one of my books you might have noticed that my heroine is a teacher. Just using what I know to create an interesting story!

    This story is sweet yet action-packed. It keeps you emotionally engaged with the bonding between a father and his newly discovered child as well as with the reuniting of two young lovers after a stretch of time having been kept apart. That time allowed for both lovers to grow and mature into responsible young adults that eventually find their way back to each other.

    Overall I really enjoyed this sweet little read and its relayed message of love, family and sticking together as a united front.

    This was a sweet love story about high school sweethearts who were broken up by the girl's father after a bad decision. John returns to town after several years in the military to find out he has a daughter he didn't know about and that his love's father had done more to keep them apart than either one of them thought. Tag on a drama where John gets to use his Navy Seal skills to save the family and it's an interesting read. I would have liked to have more depth to their getting to know each other again and a building up of their romance but all in all, an enjoyable story.

    I started reading this book thinking I’d read a couple of chapters before going to bed. Nope! Had to finish the book.
    What a great storyline and storyteller Kelsey Brook turns out to be. She kept me interested all the way through. It was well worth staying up late to finish this book.

    This is a quick read about a man and woman kept apart by an over domineering father. Years later, the main male character discovers he is a dad and attempts to reunite with the child's mother. This is a sweet romance story with a great ending.

    This is a quick read that will keep you entertained and turning pages. Although this is true, the dialogue is inauthentic and the characters lack any real depth. There’s too much exposition and it could benefit from less “telling” more “showing”. I would recommend this as a beach read, or something to read while traveling to make the time go by.
