As a serial killer suspense novel, the story meets the dark and thrilling expectations. I did find the writing repetitive at times and wish there had been more character development. That said, I flew through the story in only a few sittings.

It's a prettyy solid read. I especially like the setting with its modern-day Air Force backdrop, it was a refreshing change. Sgt. Mac McGregor is a relatable hero, and following her through her investigations was great. The plot moves fast and includes several twists that keep things interesting without feeling too contrived. A good pick for anyone who likes a mix of suspense and action.

Sergeant Evelyn "Mac" McGregor emerges as a relatable and tenacious hero, guiding readers through a maze of investigations filled with twists and turns. The plot moves swiftly, keeping the tension high and the pages turning as McGregor delves deeper into a chilling murder case entangled in the dark web of drug trafficking. While some aspects of the writing may feel repetitive, the overall narrative grips readers with its authenticity and gripping mystery, making it hard to put down.

I love an excellent mystery that causes me to keep turning pages. This novel is about a murdered wife whose husband is painted as the killer. The military investigator does not believe the husband killed his wife even though he was covered in her blood. What takes the cake is that the actual killer manages to put the crosshairs on the investigator's back for another crime as a way to get her off the case. Under most circumstances, this would work. Twists and turns till the case is solved. Enjoy an excellent read.

The protagonist's odyssey is not only deeply relatable but also profoundly inspirational, compelling me to cheer her on at every turn. The novel delves into thought-provoking themes such as the resilience of the human spirit and the ethical dilemmas posed by scientific progress, adding layers of depth to an already compelling tale. Bergman's prose is a seamless blend of clarity and lyrical beauty, striking a masterful balance that propels the story forward without sacrificing rich detail. This novel is an absolute must for aficionados of thrillers that not only thrill but also touch the heart and stir the mind.

I loved how Max and Hudson were integrated into the story and the suspense of the serial killer plot was incredible! There were some editing issues and I did find the scene development slow at time, but this wasn’t an average book. While it could use work, I would highly recommend this book to people looking for a good mystery.

This book possesses all the qualities of crime fiction–an easy read, a gripping mystery filled with suspense, and, as a bonus, an unusual setting such as a military base. Bergman's narrative prowess shines through in her well-developed characters, particularly the strong-willed and determined Mac. As a military investigator facing relentless pressure and shocking accusations, Mac's unyielding pursuit of truth forms the spine of this gripping mystery. The book is a perfect blend of suspense, intrigue, and unexpected twists, keeping readers engaged till the satisfying end.

What sets this book apart is its unique setting within the Air Force and the author's intimate knowledge drawn from over two decades of military service. Bergman's storytelling prowess creates an immersive experience, making this a compelling read for fans of James Patterson, Lisa Gardner, or Michael Connelly.

While the intense romance scenes add depth, it's Mac's resilience and the pulse-pounding psychological thriller elements that truly stand out. Bergman's blend of suspenseful storytelling and humorous dialogue creates an edge-of-your-seat murder mystery that captivates from start to finish.

Overall, "The Fatal Creation" is a must-read for those seeking a thrilling narrative with a badass female protagonist, making it an excellent addition to the shelves of mystery and thriller enthusiasts.

I enjoyed this crime thriller, which kept me guessing until the end. The main character is a young woman with tenacity, and I enjoyed her character. She is smart and does not give up. I found her interesting, and she does not take a no for a no. The thriller was intriguing and secretive enough that I could not guess who did it. However, it kept me guessing and wanting to find out more - highly recommended if you enjoy crime thrillers.

The Fatal Creation is a murder/mystery that revolves around multiple murders on Fairfield Air base. The prologue is written from the point of view of the murderer so get a glimpse into his deranged mind. The plot itself is well worthy of a read but I found there was a fair bit of repetition which made it frustrating at times. Liked the ending.

The Fatal Creation by Julie Bergman is a thoroughly entertaining read, with a fascinating military setting which sets it apart from similar titles. I also found the snowy climes of Washington State added a brooding atmosphere to the plot, which concerns a twisted serial killer on the loose with the main female protagonist in his sights. I thought the short, staccato chapters interrupted the flow a little, but the story built up to a thrilling conclusion. I'll be looking out for further novels by this author.
