Pictures of Us (Everlasting Love Book 13) Kindle Edition

5.0 5.0 out of 5 stars 5 ratings

The photographs lining the mantel of the Butterfield home tell their story. From shots of Michael and Tess as high school sweethearts to images of their daughter's wedding they look like the perfect family. But behind the pictures is a different tale that doesn't quite fit the love-at-first-sight, happily-ever-after version of Tess and Michael's marriage. And it's a tale that's revealed by a shocking phone call out of the blue.

With that one call the fabric of their life together shifts, and everything they believe is challenged. Are they the perfect family? Or is that a facade as thin as the photos themselves?

A very poignant story of unconditional love and forgiveness between a couple who unbeknownst to the H had fathered a child with another woman.Such a fresh and new approach of love, support and forgiveness from the h even though she was devastated. She rose above her hurt etc, and from strength and love for her family, she prevailed and triumphed. Wow !!

This story was so believable, and the characters were well developed. The weaving of the past and current time was easily read and not intrusive. I was carried into the book and felt as if I knew the characters, their lives and their struggles. This is a book I would recommend to anyone interested in a well written story and doesn't wander from the initial story line. I would be anxious to see more books from this author soon!

I loved this book! I am a voracious reader and only two books have ever made me cry, this being one of them! The characters are so real and the situation so realistic, you get totally wrapped up in their world. This was the first book I have ever read by Amy Garvey and she has such a heartfelt emotional way of writing that I am looking forward to reading more of her books!

Tess and Michael Butterfield have been a happily married couple for eighteen years except for one time before they married they separated and almost broke up. They reconciled and moved pass this bump in their relationship and raised their now fifteen years old daughter Emma together. Thus when the call at night occurs that Michael sired a son with Sophia Keating, both are shocked even if his indiscretion happened during the period when divorce seemed imminent; as even he had no idea that he has another child until now. The call only came because twenty-years old Drew is dying of cancer unless he receives a bone marrow transplant and his maternal side failed to match.

Tess and Michael inform Emma that she has a half brother Drew living in Boston. Michael proves incompatible, but Emma is; she is the only hope to save the life of her sibling, a total stranger.

This is an enjoyable family drama starring fully developed characters dealing with a double shocker as they both struggle to cope with the news of his previously unknown son and with his need for an instant bone marrow transplant. Adding to the dilemma is that their daughter is the only match. Readers will relish this fine tale of a New Jersey suburban family struggling to come to grips with a new reality.
