I have read all of the books in this series and loved them all. The novels lead you into a tasteful, erotic, loving fantasy that you can't bear to put your book down and can't wait to start reading again. I was disappointed to see the story end. It definitely left me wanting the story to go on. I hope Jessica Sims will write more of these wonderful novels. Great reading!!.

I don't want to rehash the plot, as it has already been done. So...I will just say that I loved it. It was funny and sweet, and Josh was just the best hero ever. :)

Must Love Fangs is the next book in Jessica Sims's Midnight Liaisons series. Must Love Fangs features Marie, a human who works at Midnight Liaisons, a matchmaking service the specializes in matching paranormals and Joshua Russell, flirty brother of Beau (from Beauty Dates the Beast). Marie has less then a year to live so she tries to find a vampire to turn her. Joshua is totally in love with Marie but she doesn't take him seriously cause she just sees him as a big flirt. What follows is lots of flirting, romance, secrets, and less then desirable vamps.

***Spoilers***

I enjoyed Must Love Fangs but I did feel the ending was a little abrupt. The last couple of books have really built up the premise that the Alliance or Council or whatever heck they are called won't allow humans be turned into shifters. And then Marie stands up at trial, declares her love which in turn Alice stands up and points out how silly the men are for even having this rule. Just run some background checks, make sure everyone is in love, and viola the world is perfect again. Hmmmm....I was a bit disappointed with that easy ending.

But what I wasn't disappointed in was how all the characters from previous books even made appearances. I loved reading about all the characters again. Even Miko, Jeremiah, and Sam from Wild & Steamy made an appearance. Absolutely loved that!!!

It's a small series, but I personally really like the development of the characters over time, including glimpses into past stories throughout the other books. The author's style & humorous writing make it fun and easy to read.

Boy meets girl, girl dying unbeknownst to boy, boy saves girl story. But funny.

Despite the title, this is a shifter romance, not a vampire romance. In fact, given the unappealing descriptions of vampires in Sims' fantasy world, I doubt there will be a vampire romance from this author.

Sims writes along the same lines as Eve Langlais, Cynthia Eden, and Nalini Singh (at her best), but is not quite up to their level, at least yet. This work in particular is humorous like Langlais', and the disastrous dating scenes are laugh-out-loud funny.

The plot is fair, but the heroine Marie isn't very well-developed. Most of what we know of her character is giving the hero a cold shoulder or her bemoaning a life not fully lived because she feared she was dying. She seems a poor fit for Josh, who does everything he can to live life to the fullest. The pairing only makes since if Josh wants to "save" her from more than just death or peril, but from a lifetime of bad decisions--and that rarely works out.

Despite the heroine, the hero pretty much saves the book with his own big-hearted personality, in combination with the heroine's completely hapless dating experiences. 3.5 stars.

I loved this book!! I loved the characters, the story line and the way Miss Sims brought it all together for a perfect read. Thank you so much for this series, I enjoyed everything about it. Please write another one. I'll be looking forward to it very much. Please don't take too long, OK? Also, I'd like to ask if you could number your books in your series so it would be easier to read them in order. I hate reading books out of order. It really irritates me. Thank you again! Happy reads EVERYONE!

The Midnight Liaisons series is a very enjoyable one and this is no less than the others that have gone before it. Joshua is adorable, Marie a little silly but understandably so and the writing as always flows and is amusing.

However this book is more expensive than the others and whilst I don't mind as the author has to earn a living, I am not sure that it is that much better for the extra price. This is a sweet story but it follows the same pattern as the others so the price change doesn't sit well. If it was extraordinary then maybe but it's not. It is a good book and a good series and entertains but there are so many other good ones out there as well for less. Something to remember perhaps!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Girl's Guide to Dating Vampires... (or not)
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 31, 2013
Marie is dying. The only hope she has of surviving is to be turned by a vampire or a shape shifter. Except the shifters are having political problems, and turning a human is a big no-no. Which leaves the vampires - mysterious, reclusive and paranoid. Getting close to one is near-impossible for a human, but luckily Marie works for Midnight Liaisons, a dating agency that caters exclusively to supernatural clients. Using the database as a human could get her fired, but since it's also her only chance at survival, she's willing to risk it.

Unfortunately, Marie's knowledge of men - normal or paranormal - is pretty close to nil. How handy, then, that flirtatious were-cougar - and vampire bodyguard - Joshua is so willing to help her out. And if that involves practising her kissing techniques, well, it's all for a good cause, right?

This most unusual of dating agencies returns in the third instalment of the Midnight Liaisons' series (
Beauty Dates the Beast , Desperately Seeking Shapeshifter ), with another of the offices girls getting to know the clients in a very out-of-hours way.

I like Marie - she's prickly, independent and swears in French. She's also carried her dark certainty of an early death for a decade, and it has shaped every aspect of her life. True, her single-minded focus on her goal, even when she has (reasonable) doubts, could be frustrating at times, but given the circumstances it was also fully understandable.

Joshua was a surprise. Despite being a flirty playboy, he showed not only his sensitive and serious sides, but also a wonderfully compassionate one. His understanding of Marie's actions was adorable. I loved the pair of them together, and his attempts to support her - even when it went against everything he wanted - were lovely.

I also really liked how nothing was quite as sexy or as simple as Marie thought. The blood and bites were painful and uncomfortable, lacking the usual sensual haze that paranormal romance throws over these moments.

Okay, so perhaps the ease with which certain barriers were removed was a little too convenient. It was both a bit predictable and a little abrupt, partly brought about by the limitations of Marie's pov. However, there was a small hint of future troubles brewing, which I hope will turn into something interesting in future tales.

The Savannah/Conner situation also seems to have moved on quite a bit, leaving me slightly confused as to when this happened. However, since this series does have the occasional continuity issue, I'll go along with it for now and hope the gaps get filled in later. It was nice to see so many of the couples from the previous books and novellas show up for brief moments, just adding a little depth to this fun world.

Apart from a few little things, this was another great addition to the series. Funny, hot and sexy, with touches of sweetness and even a few teary moments, this book is just another reminder of why this is fast becoming my favourite light paranormal romance series. I look forward to reading more soon.
