Genesis (The Exodus Trilogy Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars 1,487 ratings

On Aurora, a people divided braces for the final confrontation.

Aurora, the final destination of the starship Exodus, has become the scene of a deadly struggle between opposing forces, ready to fight with any means available. The rebels have found a leader in former Harvard Professor Kenneth Taylor, who with the help of former scramjet pilot Tina Hammer, has vowed to fight the injustices of the past and regain lost liberties.
Governor George Havelar once had a plan for Aurora, but the rebels are now threatening its unraveling. As he rallies his forces to move against the rebels, events take a surprising turn, and he is forced to reconsider his options.
The mysterious Thomas Dunn is fighting a guerrilla war in the hills and forests, and so far, the rebels have kept the enemy at bay. As winter draws to a close, an overwhelming force is coming north to end the war once and for all. But everything changes when the enemy’s attack turns to frantic retreat.
Benjamin Waters, once a boy soldier caught up in the turmoil of rebellion, has found himself developing amazing abilities, but the ghosts of his past are slowly creeping up on him. Will he find redemption, or will he lose himself to the parasite infesting his very soul?
When Maria Solis is searching for a way to expand further north, she makes a discovery that changes everything. But little does she know that the answer to an even greater mystery, which has eluded sages and scientists for thousands of years, will soon be revealed.

It is time for the explosive conclusion to the saga that began with the appearance of a rogue planet threatening humanity’s existence. Will this be the final chapter of humans on Aurora, or a new beginning?

Andreas Christensen is a Norwegian science fiction and fantasy writer. His most recent work is Frostfall, the first book in the epic fantasy series The Aborean Chronicles.

His popular science fiction series the Exodus Trilogy received rave reviews in both the U.S. and the U.K. and has been compared to classics such as Heinlein and Asimov. The dystopian Rift Saga is set approximately two centuries after the events of Exodus, and a reviewer described it as "Hunger Games on steroids". In a good way...

He is currently working on new projects, including a "second generation" story set in the Aurora universe, as well as the Legionnaire Series, a military science fiction series set in the near future.

Andreas Christensen has a degree in Psychology from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and his professional background is mainly from public service. He has a weakness for cats, coffee and up until recently, books so heavy he'd need a separate suitcase in order to carry them every time he traveled. Luckily, the world has changed, and the suitcase has now been replaced by an e-reader.

The Exodus Trilogy was a great read. I enjoyed the characters, their quests and their adventures. As usual I didn't want it to end. Christensen knows how to pull the reader in and keep them enthralled in the story line. I think anyone age sixteen or older would enjoy reading this trilogy. It takes on an adventure that could very well transpire here in the future. It was believable as well as a close double to our history of our society and how it is transporting. What will our society be like a hundred years from now? Will we be traveling to the stars out there? SKLund

This closing book in the trilogy continued the style and theme of the first two - engaging, detailed character development, good pace, logical and true-to-initial-assumption resolution of issues (no "magic happens now" though there were some circumstances all set up where it might have happened). I thoroughly enjoyed the trilogy, and you should read the third if you read the first two. My one complaint is all three were too short, indeed the end of the third seemed only the beginning of a new story (maybe there even is one out there from the author, I'll have to look, but it wasn't mentioned in the closing sections). All three collectively and together left you wanting more - both a complement in that it was a fun experience to read, but also you feel a bit short charged by the brevity. And a bit beyond brevity, there were interesting ideas (like the parasitic infections) that just were not well explored, for having been introduced. Yet overall - well worth it. Read the whole thing from the beginning.

I read the first two books, 1 and 2, and knew I had to have number 3 (Genesis). It did not leave me with a suitable conclusion which I completely expected. The entire series I enjoyed thoroughly. I especially enjoyed the way Christensen handled the use of the generational spaceship without loosing the knowledge of where they had come from. All this was well illustrated by the Chinese ship and the way they had lost all that they were when their journey ended. Andreas Christensen is an excellent author. I have committed myself to following his many works including the adjunct novels to the Exodus series which are many. They should help to fill in the many questions that one may have about what happened to the Earth after the planet killer.

I like the premise, that of saving the human race from a cataclysm about to engulf the earth. Good character development. I felt though that I sometimes couldn't keep track of the timeline of when events were happenng. I wish the author made the progression clearer.

Mr. Christensen has done it again.....he's delivered a very good read!!

Genesis:The 3rd and final of the Exodus trilogy finishes in great style with some twist, turns and further character building and leaves me wanting more from the colonist on Aurora. This is a story line I enjoy following as it goes about seeking and posing some answers to the "Where did we come from and what are we doing here" questions. I'll leave it at that.

I am trusting that Mr. Christensen is going to continue this story line with something in the near future and I for one will be among the first in line to download the offering.

I love the characters and Mr. Christensen does a great job developing them over the course of the story so that by the time Genesis rolls around I feel comfortable with them but he still opens a few new cracks in a armor of a couple to make it interesting. I like that in an author...

This is an easy read from start to finish and for me was hard to put down once I started.

The editing is first rate...no questions there.

PROFESSIONALISM....all 3 episodes...start to finish.

I am not one to get into the blurb of the books.,.you can do that yourself...I'm just telling you that this journey is a very good one to take....buy your ticket, get on board and enjoy the ride to the outer limits!!

Love the story line. I would recommend it to science fiction enthusiasts.
It took a while to get to know the characters.

A quick, well thought out science fiction read that was totally enjoyable. A fun storyline supported by good character development makes this series hard to put down. From the first book, Exodus to Aurora and then finally Genesis, I encourage you to dive in, immerse yourself and enjoy this swimmingly good series.

The exodus trilogy is a great read. I loved the first person narative of each character, giving different perspectives. Andreas Christensen is an amazing writer. As a slow reader, aged 64, I usually take a month to read a novel. I couldn't put these books down and ended up reading all three books in less than 3-weeks. I can't wait to read Alive when it arrives in my email.

Well developed characters and captivating action. Interesting ending, a bit too “deux et machina” for me, but it made me curious to read the sequels.

Now with two factions fighting they are forced to come together to defeat a common enemy and as they explore the planet further more amazing things are found.
I found this book a little bit confusing at times but it all comes to a conclusion then introduces another story in the making.

In conclusion the stories and people are believable and the politics are interesting.
I did think that a lot of new characters came to light in a short time period but never the less most enjoyable.
It will be interesting to see if Andreas proceeds to write the next saga moving on from here.
