One night in Daytona Kindle Edition
One night could change it all...
Jos Farris was on top of the world, leading the Daytona 500 until a simple mistake ended his race and possibly his career.
Cassie Lane’s day had gone to hell; on national television her star whistle-blower backed out of the story that would have made her career, leaving Cassie looking utterly incompetent.
But Jos’ day suddenly looks up when the red-headed beauty sits down next to him in a biker bar in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Cassie can’t resist the chemistry between the two of them. And she’s not the only one.
The sparks sizzle as soon as they touch, but is their love affair fated to be a one-night stand, or will destiny bring them together again?

About the author
By day Ann Grech used to live in the corporate world and could be found sitting behind a desk typing away at reports and papers or lecturing to a room full of students. She graduated with a PhD in 2016 and is now an over-qualified nerd. But the grind got old, and the voices got louder. She still has the librarian look nailed, but she’s a little freer to be herself now.
She’s never entirely fit in and loves escaping into a book—whether it’s reading or writing one. But she’s found her tribe and loves her book world family. She dislikes cooking, but loves eating, can’t figure out technology, but is addicted to it, and her guilty pleasure is Byron Bay Cookies. Oh and shoes. And lingerie. And maybe handbags too. Well, if we’re being honest, we’d probably have to add her library too given the state of her credit card every month (what can she say, she’s a bookworm at heart)!
In 2019 she was an Award-Winning Finalist in the Fiction: LGBTQ category of the 2019 Best Book Awards sponsored by American Book Fest for her story In Safe Arms.
She also publishes her raunchier short stories under her pen name, Olive Hiscock.

This story is a fast paced read and by the end of chapter two the couple is already hot and heavy, making chapter three all about their lust filled night together. The sex scenes were hot but took away from getting emotionally in touch with the characters. I was also disappointed that the story being set in Florida the highlighted locations were: a biker bar, the hotel suit, and news building. I had hoped for more use of the location. I did like the refreshing change that after the one night stand that the male lead, Jos, was emotionally missing the girl and had hoped for more. This sexy fantasy read is what some girls hope for after a fling, finding Mr. Right and him thinking she is Ms. Right too.
Jos Farris is the bad boy of racecar driving, so much so that he lands himself in trouble. After his mistake, he decides to drink away his problems. News reporter Cassie Lane is also having an uneventful day and finds herself in the same bar after discovering she has lost her job.
Their chance meeting ends with one very steamy night of passion that neither forgets. After some time, the two are reunited and realize that night meant something. Can they pick up the pieces where they left off, or do they completely split ways?
One Night in Daytona is a fast-paced novella. Even with it being a novella, I wanted more character depth for Jos and Cassie. If Jos was so into Cassie, then why did he constantly find himself “bedding other women,” as he notes? The reader only sees a small window after they meet up again that discloses Jos was constantly looking for Cassie. Then, on the other hand, if Cassie knows all of this information, then why does she take him back so quickly? She is a very educated woman, and by being a reporter, I expected more questioning on her part.
Jos and Cassie both have a day from hell and sit down next to each other at a bar in Daytona Beach. They share instant chemistry and share a one night stand that leaves them both wishing for more than a one night stand. They spend months apart yearning for each other until fate brings them together yet once again.
The sex scenes are hot and are quickly brought into the book within the second chapter. This is how quickly some stories should be instead of dragging this out till the middle of the story. This is a great read and while it was my first for Ann Grech, I will be reading her other books now that I found this author.

This is only a short story but perfect for sitting back and indulging in a quick sexy read.
Jos and Cassie both have possibly the worst day they could have. Leading them to the same bar to drown their sorrows, but the instant attraction to each other has them rushing back to her hotel.
Knowing it's only for one night they give up their bodies to a heady night of passion, but they both want more.
Cassie isn't brave enough to trust her instincts or his words and leaves him.
Will he be able to find her again?
Will she trust him after he never called?
Can one night of passion turn into a lifetime of love?
A really great fun read. Thanks Ann
