The Noticer Collection: Sometimes, all a person needs is a little perspective. Kindle Edition

4.7 4.7 out of 5 stars 295 ratings

From the bestselling author of The Traveler’s Gift comes a two-book collection based on the remarkable true story of “Jones,” a mysterious old man who provides priceless lessons about love, life, and the importance of perspective.

In this two-book collection, Andy Andrews introduces readers to Orange Beach, Alabama, is a simple town filled with simple people. But like all humans on the planet, the good folks of Orange Beach have their share of problems—marriages teetering on the brink of divorce, young adults giving up on life, business people on the verge of bankruptcy, as well as the many other obstacles that life seems to dish out to the masses.

Fortunately in The Noticer, when things look the darkest, a mysterious man named Jones has a miraculous way of showing up. An elderly man with white hair, of indiscriminate age and race, wearing blue jeans, a white T-shirt and leather flip flops carrying a battered old suitcase, Jones is a unique soul. Communicating what he calls “a little perspective,” he explains that he has been given a gift of noticing things that others miss. “Your time on this earth is a gift to be used wisely,” he says. “Don’t squander your words or your thoughts. Consider even the simplest action you take, for your lives matter beyond measure . . . and they matter forever.”

Jones speaks to that part in everyone that is yearning to understand why things happen and what we can do about it.

As the story continues to unfold in The Noticer Returns, Jones uses his unique talent of noticing little things that make a big difference. And these “little things” grant people a life-changing gift—perspective. Along the way, families will be united, financial opportunities will be created, and readers will be left with powerfully simple solutions to the everyday problems we all face.

What starts as a story of one person's everyday reality unfolds into the extraordinary principles available to anyone looking to create the life for which they were intended.

This collection will provide you with:

  • A better understanding of life’s challenges and proper perspective for tackling them
  • Practical yet powerful methods of motivation, encouragement, and resolve for those struggling
  • A fresh and insightful perspective on how people can change their view of the world, find strength, and move beyond their problems

Andy’s books are amazing in a way no others I have read over the years. He gives examples of how we “can choose to live”...that’s right choose! In the Noticer his main influencing character is a man named Jones...just Jones. He is a man of many talents, but, his primary one is noticing things. He has many stories and information to pass on to Andy and the rest of the characters and ALL of it useful to the readers. Anyone who reads this book and doesn’t come away with a list of life altering ideas and tasks just doesn’t understand How they can improve on their own lives. I have read most of Andy’s books and found they have given me a new path to walk for the remaining years of my life.

Can say enough good things about this book, but, after you read it you can write a review and fill in the blanks I have left.

I found this book contains so many shareable lessons. The discussion of the differences between “what to think and how to think” was a wake up call - especially for young adults. A great conversation that is a teaching opportunity.
Also, “regret is tough to repair” —- hit me head on. Deeper reading than I first believed. Very well written.

Ok, so this is not the most artfully written book I've ever read. HOWEVER, there are most excellent points made that make this book a top recommendation. It has the best explanation of moving from this world to the next.

I chose this rating because both books are real life thinking. Few go this far to not only to be but to see the seeds we plant. Good, bad, or indifference.
This writer deserves this rating. I believe I will buy the hard back books for my home library and will them to be passed down and read for generations.

We read the bible so often, but to be able to see, to vision what God really looks like is amazing. Wake up, I'm turning my lamp on! Come join if you like.

This is the best story on perspective. I loved it as I love all of Andy's books. Great story and pleasant way to spend my time.

I don’t have sufficient words to express how much this book affected me. During these crazy times, the need for perspective and inspiration is dire. This book was a gift for me and I will treasure its lessons.

Andy has written a wonderful story about the trials, tribulations, and triumphs that we all experience at one time or another. I think that God makes a cameo appearance in the character named…you’ll have to read it to see.

Every so often a book comes along that leaves you feeling inspired and motivated after reading it. This is one such book. Told as a story, the lessons learned by the people you meet are remarkable and can be applied to today. The book itself is written in a way that is easy read too. Would highly recommend.
