Father Bredder finds himself embroiled in a mystery reminiscent of Murder on the Orient Express set on a boat during the Transpac Yacht Race to Honolulu. Father Bredder joins the crew of the Fair Maid to determine if the captain of the boat is cursed or if someone is trying to kill him.

BOOK 8: Problem in Angels

When Father Bredder was persuaded to attend a concert by a string quartet, he expected an evening without much excitement. But when the first violinist dies of an apparent heart attack, Father Bredder can't help but take note. As he conducts his investigation, he uncovers a history of murder and revenge dating back to World War II, all intermeshed with the story of an old and valuable violin.

BOOK 9: The Mirror of Hell

Lt. Minardi's 16-year-old daughter attends a summer drama and cheerleading program at a local college, where students begin turning up dead. While investigating the case, Minardi and Father Bredder uncover a conspiracy of drug-dealing and murder.

About the Author

Leonard Holton is the pen name for Leonard Wibberley, author of The Mouse That Roared. Leonard was born in Dublin Ireland, in 1915. He was the sixth child of a schoolteacher and an agricultural scientist. When he was nine, his family moved to London. Seven years later, when his father died, he went to work as a stockroom apprentice for a publisher and later became a reporter. After various jobs, he came to the United States in 1943 and engaged in newspaper work for ten years. While working for the Los Angeles Times, he published his first work, The King's Beard. Three years later he published his most successful book, The Mouse That Roared, which was serialized in The Saturday Evening Post, and later made into a classic film starring Peter Sellers.

Wibberley lived in Hermosa Beach from 1949 until his death in 1983. He wrote over 100 books and 100's of newspaper articles. He was also an adventurer, who enjoyed traveling, scuba diving, ocean sailing, and road racing.

Leonard Holton is the pen name for Leonard Wibberley, author of The Mouse That Roared.

Wibberley was an adventurer. He enjoyed traveling, scuba diving, ocean sailing, an road racing. He also enjoyed playing the violin, painting and shouting at his six kids.

As Leonard Holton, Wibberley wrote the "Father Joseph Bredder" mystery series which were named A Red Badge Novel of Suspense alongside Agatha Christie, Michael Innes, and Hugh Pentecost.
