- Reviewed in the United States on July 18, 2024This story has suspense, mystery and great timing. The girls are grieving their childhood friend, Samantha. Twenty years they have waited in hopes that somehow she could return. Then the story takes an unexpected turn because of a hit and run. It’s Christmas time and there are many new stories in play. Enjoy!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2024Since finishing book 3 of this series just 8 hours before picking up book 4, I wondered how the investigation into Samantha’s case was going to pan out within this story. My very imaginative, investigative mind was at work theorizing how it would unfold but, as good as I am, I was nowhere near close to arriving at its eventual ending in this book. This one had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end which felt much like I believe standing on the edge of Widow’s Walk would be. I absolutely love everything about this book! All my emotions were tested and tried while reading this one and I loved every single minute of it. Thank you Kendra Elliott for entertaining me so very well!!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 29, 2024The third book continues with Cate and Tessa starting to ask questions into Samantha’s disappearance. There is a third murder. A hit and run. Poor Henry thought he was getting the quiet life on the island. It has not been quiet lol
Cate is still healing from her GSW. Having severe anxiety about going back to work and where that will leave her and Henry.
Finding a clue durning the hit and run investigation leads to more clues about Sam’s disappearance. I wasn’t expecting several things to happen in this book so that was fun!
This novella series is great. I’m really enjoying it !!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2022Kendra and Melinda combined their writing skills to bring Widow’s Island to a whole new level of future possibilities as Cate, Henry, Tessa and Luke along with Grandma Jane, Sam and Mickey provide just the right mix of characters to provide these two astonishingly talented authors an unlimited range of possibilities in their future endeavors. Fortunately for me, the happened long enough that I am the beneficiary of their labors and I can’t wait to continue reading with book 5! See you again soon, Phil!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 9, 2021Solid installment in the series. Content warnings for rape, kidnapping, and child abuse for those that need it. Didn't expect it and wanted to warn those reading the series.
Still feels like the romance is shoehorned into the stories. This is book four and it's only been about a month on the island, yet there's a lot of fated matenees for the romance. Too quick and not enough build up. Takes away from the crime.
I liked the secondary plot more than the initial.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 25, 2024I like the series as the characters of this small island called “Widow’s Island” try to make the most of life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great book in this series.
A man is killed by a hit and run driver, the investigating team are surprised who the driver is and why they did it. Can the information from the driver solve a decades old mystery disappearance? I really am enjoying this series of books and I can't stop reading to get things done. So I'm really looking forward to the next book in the series.

2.0 out of 5 stars A forgettable read
It started as a mystery, but the detectives didn't have to work hard to crack the case. A hit and run case leading back to the disappearance of the two protagonist's lost friend, which kept on popping up in the previous three books. Halfway through the book, the author has made apparent the identity of the killer and what's left was just a rescue operation. Very simple plot and easy resolution. The authors have been building up to this case since last 3 books, but the payoff didn't turn out to be good.

.There is nothing I could say about the book to put a damper on it. I was captivated with the whole story from beginning to end. Kendra Elliot has a knack of keeping me interested. I have no hesitation to let my students read this story and give me their review.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good read!
I’m not normally a fan of novellas but this series of 4 was addictive. You instantly feel connected to the characters and are drawn into the story without an escape.
