Cole Higginbotham ditched his elf hat for good when he quit his family’s lucrative year-round Christmas business. He’s finally found peace as an orchard caretaker—until one night when a mysterious speck of light appears, flitting among the apple trees.

Herb farmer Noelle Arber must harvest enough fresh mistletoe to decorate Main Street or she’ll forfeit her much-needed contract fee. After she convinces Cole that she’s not a mistletoe poacher, he surprises her with an offer. Give him a copy of her detailed orchard map and he’ll help her decorate Main Street.

Cole got sick of his families Christmas and having to work there. His dad ate, drank and slept the Christmas store they owned. When he told Cole he was going to decorate all of the live trees, he took off and was hired to be a caretake of an apple orchard. Noella loved using natural things to make wreaths and such. Her and her mother owned Empathy Herb Farm. She put in a bid to decorate the lamp posts and over the doors of the business in the their small town. Cole decides to help her. The harvested mistletoe form the apple trees to use to decorate with. The school principle does not like it as mistletoe berries are poisonous, so they were taken down. The town council gives her till four in the afternoon to get new decorations or she will forfeit her pay. you will need to read the book to find out what happens. It is such a cute story and with a Christmas theme, more to love. I also loved the touch of belief in the Lord as well.

When I began listening to Red Bows and Mistletoe, I liked the premise. Girl takes on a large Christmas project, has a catastrophe and needs a jolly elf to the rescue. However, it took a little longer to get away from Cole and Noelle's contentiousness and down to the fun than I would have liked. Once they did, however, this was a truly magical Christmasy story. I loved it once Cole's family got involved. That was THE best. Read or listen to it and you'll see. The Narrator did an excellent job with the voices of all of the characters and keeping the story clear and easy to understand. All in all the story will put you right in that Holiday Spirit!
