4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 155 ratings

Kate Beckett

The webs we weave are often the most damaging to ourselves.
The love we want can blossom in places we know we won’t find it.
Trying to save a man who couldn't be was my demise.
I wanted a man who was untouchable, all while an unloved man was dying to have me.
Little did I know I was right there beside him, wanting him too without realizing it.
But I had to find my salvation and finally let go of what killed the woman I used to be.

Nick Amerson

She lived in a world all her own—lost, broken, and alone. But she was never alone when I was there, waiting.
She healed and broke over and over again.
And every ounce of me craved for her to see me there.
I ached to touch her. To please her. To love her with unfathomable passion.
But I couldn't do that until she found her salvation on her own.
And in my eyes, that salvation was me.

“I won’t be your runner up, or your heartbreak fix. I’ll be your last, Kate Beckett, but it will be your best love yet.”

“Forgive me. Love again and forgive me for everything. You deserve the stars and the moon and everything right in this world. But never forget that my love for you was real and it was fierce, Kate Beckett. Loving you was the only thing I got right in this life.”

Two men so similar yet so different in love with the same woman. Kate Beckett. Two sides of the same coin. One is living the fast life of drugs, women and rock n roll while the other man has learned from those mistakes and is determined to never live that life again.

Eric broke Kate slowly for years as the man who was supposed to build her up and protect her while Nick stood firm and picked up the pieces slowly as her best friend determined to be there when Kate finally has enough and walks away from Eric.

Watching Eric and Kate break apart was horrible. It hurt. I didn’t even realize I was crying at first when I was reading that part until I felt the tears falling down my cheeks. She was dying with Eric and her heart loved Nick. It wasn’t an easy decision because she didn’t want to be another person to let Eric down but his addiction was driving his decisions. When that happens sometimes you have to cut them loose regardless of how bad it hurts. No matter if it scares you, if you worry they will end up dead. You can’t will them to live and get better. They have to want it for themselves.

Nick is steadfast in his decision with Kate being the one for him. He loves her. To the bottom of his soul she is it for him. He wants nothing more than to help her pick up every jagged piece of her broken heart and soul and put them back together and help her find herself again. He will protect her from anything or anyone. He has known from the first moment he saw Kate she is it and he has waited for a long time for this opportunity and he isn’t missing his chance.

After Kate and Eric’s break up this is where you need to grab some wine, a massive box of tissues and some chocolate. If you thought the heartbreak of their breakup was bad just wait. That was rainbows compared to the category 5 hurricane that is coming your way. I have no way to describe it besides gut wrenching, soul crushing pain. Then when you think it’s over the ghost of Christmas past stops in with one last present and rips out what is left of any guts you had left.

I was so pissed and upset at that moment for Kate. I couldn’t believe what was happening. Nick is an absolute saint during the whole horrible time and gives every ounce of his strength to Kate. I know Kate would have made it through without him but with him there he made it so much easier for her to handle and cope.

I know Sierra was extremely worried about writing this book. It’s been a long wait for her readers. CC you did an amazing job with Kate and Nick’s story! There is nothing that I would have changed. Be proud of yourself! I know this story was taxing on your heart to write because it was hard on my heart to read but it was so worth the wait.

Oh this book hit me in the feels. I kinda knew to expect it but still, it took me by surprise.

We met all the players in Loving Ben Cooper. You don't really need to read that book to understand this one. It's a good one though so you should totally read it.

Kate and Eric's relationship is highly unhealthy. And while she admits she doesn't love him anymore she can't let him go. Burdening herself to be the one person who will stick by him. I can't say I've ever felt that I needed to be that person for someone but its hard to watch. I was super grateful that we didn't sit in that toxicity for too long.

For years Kate has felt something for Nick the band manager, he's felt something too. Seems like the right time for these two crazy kids. Only Nick isn't a kid, if memory serves he's about 20 years older than her. But UGHH FREAKING NICK. Hes the best. He's like the perfect guy. Secure, loving, and compassionate. Like Kate couldn't have found a better guy. Especially when things start to go bonkers he's there to support her and I can't love that guy enough.

I'm not usually a highlighter. But I couldn't help the beautiful lines I was reading, they needed to be highlighted and appreciated. Monroe absolutely outdid herself with this book. It spoke to my heart and I really just adored it. Also, I consumed it in one sitting, I should've been adulting but I couldn't tear myself away.

After reading Ben and Sadie story I didn't really know how I was going to understand the next step with Kate and Eric. You could tell that his demons were really ingrained in him and alot of hurt was happening to Kate. I did not see Nick coming in as this mature compass that lead through this world of addiction and I didn't see the hidden love either. The goodbye letter broke me and Nick put me back together. What a great book.

Loving Kate Beckett was that an emotional journey. This book, gah, what can I say? CC Monroe is such a master of making me feel raw and totally getting me, yet she’s able to put me back together.

In this book, CC Monroe laid it all out there. Kate’s story is painful. We first met Kate in Loving Ben Cooper. I knew then that I had to have her story and needed to see what would come of Kate and Eric. Well, let me tell you it isn’t pretty, and watching it unfold hurt. Addiction, lies, abuse, and cheating from the man she loved was killing her and taking away the light that used to shine so bright. He became her addiction, the need to “fix” and save him. Then you witness a change. After tragedy hits, strength and the love, true love, of another man comes out and makes her find her way out of her addiction and she learns to love herself again.

This book is hard, but so worth every tear and anxiety provoking moment to witness the beauty that comes from the pain of her past.
Get your tissues ready and prepare yourself for this unforgettable five star read.

I am.mad at Eric but extremely happy for Kate and Nick. Those two had to battle Eric's addiction but in the end a family is what they were rewarded with. I can't believe hiw.much pain Kate had to endure during her time with Eric. At least he was correct in writing a letter to make amends with both his friends and family. There are a few sentences that need to be corrected but it was a great read.

Let me start by saying that I read this book after the first in the series (Loving Ben Cooper) but if you haven't read that, you're going to be okay. This book can be treated like a standalone, but if you want a little bit of history on the characters that are in this book, then you should read Ben Cooper first. But I simply loved this book. CC wrote it so beautifully...taking us on the highs and lows of Kate and Nick's story. I loved how she told the story, how she made Kate both strong and vulnerable at the same time. I would most definitely recommend this book, and CC's other books to you. Definitely read this! It's totally worth it!
