I know her as the unconscious girl I found bleeding out on the locker room floor.
I got her help. I saved her life.
The next time I see her, she makes it clear she wants nothing to do with me.
Too bad.
I didn’t go through the trouble of saving her life just for her to throw it away again.
She doesn’t know it yet but I’m about to be her new best friend.

I was so consumed by this romance that bleeds heart, and radiates strength and soul.

I was so consumed by this romance that bleeds heart, and radiates strength and soul.
Daniela Romero didn’t just write a book, she took me on an emotional journey. The Savage was my undoing, wrecking me in the best way. I was so consumed by this romance that bleeds heart, and radiates strength and soul. The Savage is the heart-thrashing tale of two fractured souls tethered together, helping each other become whole. Broken sees broken. Like sees like. Real sees real. I adored Cecilia and Gabriel, feeling their combustible chemistry and undeniable connection burst through the pages. My heart both shattered and soared for these soulmates who find salvation in each other.Bravely tackling tough and sensitive subjects often kept under wraps, The Savage masterfully shines a light on the dark and ugly so healing can happen after heartbreak. This tale of tides—highs and lows, and pushes and pulls—sank into my soul, pulling me under, where I was drowning in every emotion. Achingly honest and emotionally explosive, The Savage shook me to core.💋💋💋💋💋 heart-thrashing kisses

The Savage is the 1st book in the Boys of Richland series, and ends on a cliffhanger. Yeah I know I hate cliffhangers, but I knew this was going to be too good to not start ASAP. I thought that this book was very well written and had really great character development in it. I must really like the angst in a book because this book totally wrecked me. It left me an emotional mess but I loved it.  The journey of Gabriel and Cecilia was emotionally captivating and so freaking good. I loved how the author can put so much emotion into a book. The trauma that Cecilia goes through is horrible and reminds me of Ally from the Sun Valley Devils series by the same author, and yes I loved that series as well. This is going to be one book that you will want to check those triggers one cause this might not be the book for you if you have any. This story reminds me of two lost souls who will eventually heal each other and finally get their own happily ever after.

I liked the story line. Definitely has some dark spots so check your triggers. I really felt for Cecilias story as well as Gabriel's. They connected on a similar level. However, it almost felt slightly rushed. They said I love you really quickly it seems. But other than that I liked the book. Ends on a cliffy.

This book is so good but there are definite triggers so please read what the triggers are before you read. This book is heartbreaking and I hurt reading what Cecelia went through. Also hurts reading what Gabriel has gone through. Both have had trauma happen to them, even though it's different trauma for both. I love how Gabriel is fighting and forcing Cecelia to do things and wants her to hopefully get better even though he doesn't really know her. Cecelia is having a hard time and just wants to get by and be left alone.

Gabriel starts to break through her shell and I love them together. I really hate Austin though. Ergh, just want to smack him and not stop. I truly loved seeing Gabriel and Cecelia start this friendship relationship. Truly beautiful. That ending/cliffhanger kills though and I was in tears. Cannot wait for next book. Oh, and I love Felix and Julio. Great characters.

This is a good read just to mellow for what I read. This is very mellow from the other books by this author. I will read the next book and I will skim throughout just I did this book. This is a light read .

This is one of those books where if I could give it more stars, I would. Ms. Romero did such a fantastic job with these characters, this storyline and portraying the emotions and trauma involved in this story.
With that being said, read the TW, because this is not a story to be read if you do get triggered.

This book opens with Cecilia waking up in a strange place and realizing g she has been violated in the worst possible way. Gabriel comes into the picture when she attempts to take her own life. The characters and the growth they go through following this trauma is commendable.

Pro tip: DO NOT start this book right before you go to sleep! Yikes.

SPOILERS BELOW

Definitely pay attention to the trigger warnings for this book. Particularly if you have any about getting drugged, sexually assaulted, r@ped, brutally bullied, blackmailed, etc or if you have any triggers for self harm or suicide. This book basically opens with a scene of Cecelia waking up in a strange bed, only to discover that she was violated in one of the worst, most humiliating, degrading, violent ways possible. There is also very frank & detailed discussion about attempted unaliving, and successful unaliving, as well as the perspective from the person who found them.

The story was very well written & the character development was great. I’ve read all of the Devils books which are currently out (impatiently awaiting the next one) so I thought I’d start this series in the meantime. Joke’s on me because I didn’t realize that that this series wasn’t complete yet either, and I didn’t realize that this story continues over more than this book.
Write faster! Lol.
This author is so talented & the characters in her books are so refreshingly unique.

This book begins part one of an epic romance between two deeply broken characters trying to heal themselves while simultaneously healing each other. This story is real, heartfelt, gritty, and full of emotion and I may have thrown my kindle when reached the cliffhanger at the end. Daniela Romero did an outstanding job making us fall in love with Gabriel and Cecelia.

NEW TO ME author! This gamble paid off in the best way. Watching both characters fight and deny their chemistry while dealing with their own traumatic pasts was so gripping. It was like I couldn’t stop turning the pages and turning the pages. I was sucked in from the very beginning with a desperate need to know how it ended…(spoiler, it doesn’t LOL)

5.0 out of 5 stars A really well written book on what is a sensitive subject.

Gabe and Cecelia are at the same college. He saves her life when he finds her covered in blood in the locker room of the swimming pool. She isnt at all pleased that her plan didnt work but she is trying to recover and on her first day back after the summer break she is grabbed by one of the guys that caused her breakdown. Austin thinks he is in the clear, after all the board of the school have cleared him and his friends and they have got off scott free. He teases her that he still has a video of the rape and he will show it if she doesnt keep her mouth shut. It shakes her to the bone only to meet with Gabe a second later and she remembers him. He brushes off Austin even though he doesnt understand the tension he guides her away. He wants to help her after what happened to his brother and he tells her she needs to want to live because of how his parents were after his brother killed himself. He has no idea she has been raped but he sets out to help. Its a well written story. Its been thought out properly and sensitively.

Another great read from Daniela Romero. This is a highly emotional and beautifully angsty romance. It definitely hits the reader as if you are with these characters. The only dislike is the ending as I don't care for the whole martyr bs. I am eager to see the move past that and hopefully some people get what's coming to them.
