A Good Morning America Buzz Pick
One of Amazon's Best Romances of November!

Two exes wake up together with wedding bands on their fingers—and no idea how they got there. They have just one New Year’s Eve at the end of 1999 to figure it out in this big-hearted and nostalgic rom-com from
New York Times bestselling author Allison Winn Scotch.

When college sweethearts Frankie and Ezra broke up before graduation
, they vowed to never speak to each other again. Ten years later, on the eve of the new millennium, they find themselves back on their snowy, picturesque New England campus together for the first time for the wedding of mutual friends. Frankie’s on the rise as a music manager for the hottest bands of the late ’90s, and Ezra’s ready to propose to his girlfriend after the wedding. Everything is going to plan—they just have to avoid the chasm of emotions brought up when they inevitably come face to face.

But when they wake up in bed next to each other the following morning with Ezra’s grandmother’s diamond on Frankie’s finger, they have zero memory of how they got there—or about any of the events that transpired the night before. Now Frankie and Ezra have to put aside old grievances in order to figure out what happened, what
didn’t happen...and to ask themselves the most troubling question of all: what if they both got it wrong the first time around?

Editorial Reviews

Review

“A charming love story rich with nineties nostalgia, The Rewind is Allison Winn Scotch’s best book yet.”—#1 New York Times bestselling author Emily Giffin

The Rewind is as much an endearing love story about the one that got away as it is a love letter to all things 90s, including Doc Martens, Y2K and dial-up Internet. Fresh, original and compelling, this book is Allison Winn Scotch at her absolute best.”USA Today bestselling author Colleen Oakley

“Sassy, engaging and warm, The Rewind is a sharp and witty rom-com about the road not taken—and the people who find their way back to us anyway. Ezra and Frankie are magic together. You won’t be able to put this down until happily-ever-after.”—#1 New York Times bestselling author Laura Dave

“A dazzling second-chance romance…This is the Y2K new-millennium story I didn’t know I needed.”
Washington Independent Review of Books

"Nineties nostalgia is alive and well in this moving story of a lost first love and second chances. Readers will enjoy piecing together both the story of the forgotten night and the reasons behind the relationship’s disastrous first ending."--
Library Journal

90s Nostalgia

90s Nostalgia
On the morning of their college graduation, Ezra and Frankie broke up. Devastating both parties, they swore they would never speak again. Now because of loyalty to her friend Frankie finds herself traveling back to campus for a New Years Eve wedding on the cusp of the millennium. All will be well as long as she can avoid Ezra. But after an epic drunken rehearsal dinner adventure the former lovebirds find themselves waking up next to each other, wedding bands on each of their hands and absolutely no memory of the night before. Having to put aside their grudge in order to find out the circumstances that led them to their old dorm room (and if they are really married) Ezra and Frankie are given a second chance at figuring out what really went wrong all those years ago. I think I may have ruined "The Rewind" for myself by assuming that this was some sort of fun time-travely plot instead of a we got way too drunk trope. I kept waiting for some sort of twist, or anything really, to propel the story ahead but it really was just 368 pages of following these two around while they piece together a blackout night. I'm also not sure these two were ever right for one another but that is a whole different conversation. Would recommend "The Rewind" if you are seriously into 90s nostalgia and looking for a quick romance read to pass some time.

My Thoughts:

The Rewind takes us back to Y-2K and the start of the New Millennium. Ten years after their relationship ended and their lives go in different directions, Ezra and Frankie are thrown together at the wedding of two old friends.

Did they accidentally get married while drunk and reliving the past? Are they about to renew their lives together in a strange twist of their circumstances?

Most of the story takes us back and forth to the past while trying to understand what has happened in the present. As we follow their journey, we are not sure how it will all unfold, but we’re pretty caught up in rooting for them. An enjoyable romance that takes a new look at how to start over again. 4.5 stars.

Interesting characters, fun dialogue and a very creative premise to the age-old question: if we could do it over would we? Would there be a different ending? Loved the plot and character twists. Very enjoyable!

I felt this book dragged on WAY more than it should have. It did have a few good parts in it, and I do love a good romance novel. This wasn't my cup of tea though.

I liked this a lot! Cute read and the characters were pretty likable. However, i felt like there were too many details leading up to the end and it was a tad confusing with past vs present vs 10 years ago all in the same chapters. Would’ve benefited from maybe italics or bold for the flashbacks. The ending felt way too fast with them literally hating each others guts and then two hours passes and they’re just like meh let’s try again

This book was so good. In The Rewind you learn about Ezra and Frankie break up over a decade ago.

Ezra forgot about Frankie and Frankie forgot about Ezra. Then they are reunited at their mutual friends wedding.

I will start by saying that I need this book to be a Netflix movie. I would love to see it on the big screen.

I loved every part of this book. The author wrote it so well. It is as if you can feel what Ezra and Frankie are feeling.

It is so descriptive and I loved it!!!!

I wanted to like this but I could never get into it. The characters were not engaging or particularly likable and the story dragged. It had such potential but just fell flat to me. And the writer has a habit of referring to the main characters by their first and last names every fifth or sixth time and that got really annoying. Sorry to say it, but this one’s not worth the time.

I loved getting both Ezra and Frankie’s perspective throughout this redemption/love story. The plot was fun and their romance believable. I’ll definitely recommend this to my romance book friends!

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. The further I read, the more attached I became to the characters. "The Rewind" is one you need to pay attention to as each interaction leads way to the big reveal of "what the heck happened last night?".
