He's my dark salvation, my beloved fallen angel who is trying with all of his wicked heart to save me from what seems like an entire world bent on either killing me or a fate worse than death.

We're headed to the Denver, Colorado chapter of the Iron Horse MC, chasing after my narcissistic, junkie mother who decided to steal from some very bad men leaving her two daughters behind to pay the price for her betrayal. My twin sister, Sarah, old lady to the Iron Horse MC president, is looking for my mother as well, but Sarah's gone rogue and has no one to guard her back which worries me deeply. To further complicate matters, there are traitors in the Iron Horse MC who are working with my mother, not only helping her to escape but also informing my enemies of my every move.

The odds are stacked against me, but I will do whatever is necessary to protect those I love, and with Smoke at my side, I just might make it out of this mess alive.

Warning: There is violence and darkness in this book that may not be for some readers, but I give plenty of hints it's coming and you can skip those parts and still understand the story. But, worry not, there is a big happy HEA sigh at the end. This book completes Smoke and Swan's story. Next up is Beach and Sarah.

From a young Ann has had a love affair with books would read everything she could get her hands on. As Ann grew older, and her hormones kicked in, she discovered bodice ripping Fabio-esque romance novels. They were great at first, but she soon grew tired of the endless stories with a big wonderful emotional buildup to really short and crappy sex. Never a big fan of purple prose, throbbing spears of fleshy pleasure and wet honey pots make her giggle, she sought out books that gave the sex scenes in the story just as muchd etail and plot as everything else-without using cringe worthy euphemisms. This led her to the wonderful world of Erotic Romance, and she's never looked back.

Now Ann spends her days trying to tune out cartoons playing in the background to get into her 'sexy space' and has accepted that her Muse has a severe case of ADD.

I am in love with Sue Wanda "Swan" Anderson. She is genuine, sweet, smart, sharp and deadly. This Heroine is the perfect character. She embodies what we look for in great story telling. The character will be one I remember forever, and will re-read for the fun of it.

Miguel "Smoke" Santos is the alpha you never knew you would love. Domineering, and sexy he wins your heart from the first page. He takes his responsibilities to heart and sometimes to much. He is funny and snarky and bossy and did I say sexy.

This stories action never stops, a true epic tale. The most amazing thing about this writer is she is able to tell a story in a story in a story in a story. You get my meaning. There is danger and love, action and death, betrayal and sadness, humor and sexy...

I am on to book 3. If you have read this author (and I do recommend you do), you know her style of plotting and it makes for a surprising twist on a series. I find it refreshing...She somehow writes a picture with excitement and the lack of will to put it down until you are done. Excellent read.

I started in on book two right after reading the first one. It picks up where Exquisite Trouble left off, so I HIGHLY recommend reading that one first, or you will be lost in some parts.

Swan and Smoke are off to find her sister and mother. I love how Smoke continually tries to protect Swan and she continually insists she can take care of herself. They both learn a lot about each other through this book. There were twists and turns in this book that I didn't see coming, something I really enjoyed.

I love Smoke. He wants to protect Swan but doesn't lose his masculinity or go into a deep depression when it's Swan who has to be the strong one, or at times does the saving. He is man enough to accept that sometimes situations are out of his control, though he may not like it.

Swan...she loves her man and isn't letting anyone hurt him nor any woman touch him. She has some insecurities and jealousy and owns up to it. I particularly love how in both books she makes it clear that Smoke's her man and no one is hurting him.

Finishing the book, I'm now on a watch list for book 3. I can't wait to read Sarah and Beach's story...

This is the first time reading a novel by this author but not the last and I'm looking to read more.This is an awesome story full of secrecy, mystery and drama which starts at the beginning of the story until the very end. The author writing definitely have a unique and smooth style which full of grace and confidence.
I found this book to be fast paced and really enjoyed the scenes between the two of them as they got more and more involved with each other as well as handling difficult situations.
Swan fiery rebellion against her present and desired future condition and at times I thought she was a little petulant and rapt. Smoke was truly a strong alpha male with protective instinct and true love for Swan.
Everything that is addressed is very crucial to the storyline and where it is eventually going. I can see there is a great potential for more from this gang about Hulk and Hustler point of view.

I fell in love with Swan and Smoke in the first book Exquisite Trouble so I couldn't wait to read the second book in this series. First, I have fallen in love with Ann Mayburn's writing. She is a writing genius for us romance enthusiast. I will admit I was skeptical about reading a book about a motorcycle gang. But this series is way more than just a story about a motorcycle gang. All the characters are so interesting and intriguing. But Swan is this amazing, strong kick ass beautiful woman we all want to be. She is fearless, smart and sexy. And then Smoke. Ahhhh Smoke. So tough about everything in his life except when it comes to Swan and his familia. I adore how protective he is over Swan and her touching condition. They are a perfect match. The story is so interesting and keeps you on the edge of your seat and up all night reading. There is a chapter towards the end of the book that had my stomach all in knots. You could feel the pain both characters were suffering through Ann's amazing writing skills. Read this series! It is not to be missed.

I love this biker story. I don't like it when I have to buy more than one book to get one story. I made an exception this time because book 1 was just so very very good. Book two surpassed it. The story had strong female and hot alpha male and strong MC brother characters. It's such a good story. I would love it if the author wrote more on some of the other MC brothers. She writes really good biker characters and hot erotic scenes. Still wanna know who Chief is. I listened to the audible book and read some. Gotta get the audible version. Panty melting male voice of narrator is outstanding. Female narrator is good too. Listening to him is worth every minute of listening. Wish the other two biker books in the series had audible versions. Loved this book.

2nd part to Swan and Smoke's story and was it ever packed with so much of everything from kidnappings, hot sex, intrigue of Iron Horse MC members that were turncoats and trying to get them killed, murder, and shoot outs with scores of criminals. Swan and Sarah were trained by their parents to overcome and be able to survive insurmountable odds and with everything that occurs in this book, it is a very good thing they did that to them because I cannot imagine anyone else being able to survive what happens. Swan and Sarah are also such strong women and also are almost brilliant in their thinking. As they story happens the traitors are slowly revealed and so much drama occurs. I totally recommend this book and I cannot wait for the next book in series which should be Sarah and Beach's story to unfold. Well done Ann for a great read and it will definitely be a really great series. Thank you!

Oh man. I loved some things about this book. Getting to see more of Smoke’s POV is awesome. I think it gives the book more balance and I really liked getting both leads’ perspectives throughout the story. In this book particularly, Smoke’s very complicated psyche needed some exploration and I thought his generally steadier thought processes helped to balance out Swan’s frenetic, jumpy POV. It was also fun for Smoke’s scarier side to come out to play. I love how gentle he is with Swan – she is incredibly fragile and insecure in some ways – but the last thing a writer wants is her audience doubting whether the badass Master at Arms biker is really all that intimidating…. he definitely is! Do not get on Smoke’s bad-side.

Unfortunately, I didn’t think the plot was as strong as the first novel. Most of “ED” was about the identity of the Iron Horse traitor but to the reader, it is painfully obvious who is at fault...
