"This was a GREAT book! The thing I enjoyed most as I read the story, was the whole gamut of emotions that each character expressed. This was especially true of Charlotte. In reading the words, I found myself feeling the way Charlotte felt in any given situation. When she was sad, I was sad. Her anger became my anger, and I found myself sharing her happy experiences with great joy! I know that I have never read another story with a better heroine than Charlotte! Our world needs more "Charlotte's" in it, ....and definitely more writers like Henrietta Harding!!" - L.M., Amazon review ★★★★★

Henrietta Harding's journey began in Atlanta, but it was in the heart of Europe, at the tender age of 7, that she discovered her passion for romance. Paris, with its enchanting streets and timeless allure, became the backdrop of her dreams and continues to inspire her to this day.

Writing has been Henrietta's lifelong companion, a love that bloomed even before she could utter her first words. By the age of 4, she had already penned her inaugural poem, setting the stage for her destiny as a romance author. Her path led her to the University of Strasbourg, where she immersed herself in the world of French literature and found love in her second year—the kind that would last a lifetime.

Now nestled in the heart of Boston, Henrietta dedicates her days to crafting captivating historical romances, her trusty canine companion her loyal shadow. She firmly believes that the most compelling heroes and heroines are flawed, and she takes great delight in subjecting them to trials before bestowing upon them the happiness they deserve.

Henrietta cherishes the opportunity to connect with her readers, sharing her love for storytelling and the enduring power of love.

I loved this historical romance! I could feel empathy for Charlotte having to traverse life as a young lady without any family left. She sought help from a well off friend, Amanda, whose manners left little to the imagination. Graham, Amanda’s brother, is Charlotte’s longtime crush. She’s found out that time hasn’t squelched the flame of her young girl crush. Amanda on the other hand can’t see her “lower class” friend ending up with her brother. With all that Amanda puts Charlotte and Graham through, love prevails! Great read; I couldn’t put it down!

I love this book and extended epilogue! The characters all started out bound by their circumstances; they began stiff and unable to maneuver the ton’s expectations. Once again Ms. Harding expertly unwrapped the character's unique personalities as each was forced to face their own shortcomings. This book’s plot was very exciting and often had me wondering what would happen next. Great villain in Lord Stanhope; what a sleazeball!
While the story is wonderful, both the book and EE would benefit from visual editing and the reason for four instead of five stars. This in no way should keep anyone from reading this book. It's quite wonderful!

Henrietta Harding is one of my favorite authors, she doesn't disappoint! This is The sweet story of Charlotte and Graham. The characters were well written and true to the story. Charlotte was endearing, kind and a gentle soul. At times I wished she would stand up for herself more but circumstances prevented her. Graham was the perfect swoon worthy hero. Be still my heart ❤️. You must read this book, you'll love watching Graham and Charlotte navigate their love for one anotherA beautiful story of love unfolding. Thank you Henrietta so much for such a beautiful story of love!

It was a lovely story, perfect for light reading on a lovely summer’s day. Enjoyed how young hero worship, on the part of Charlotte, turned into true and lasting love and how a bitter young woman, turned a leaf to become a truly caring sister and friend.
Lord Easterly is the epitome of a true gentleman. Yes, it was a good read that engages one’s interest to the very end. Well done!

This is a story about Charlotte who is alone after her brother is brought home from the war for his funeral. With nowhere to go her friend invites her to be her handmaiden. While doing this she sees Graham her older brother that she hasn't seen in years. He’s feeling broken after his wife’s death and inborn child. They talk and become friends. As they inch closer they have problems thrown into their path as they try getting closer. Will they find a way to be together? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Charlotte is the daughter of the late Vicar, and now with the death of her only sibling, she has taken to caring for the new vicar and his family. It is not what she had thought her life to be. After a chance meeting with an old acquaintance, she now has taken to be Amanda's ladies maid of the Easterly estate. Charlotte always had a crush on Lord Graham Easterly, Amanda's brother, since her and Amanda were children playing together. But Charlotte finds out that Amanda isn't the best of friend to her and finds her very devious and sometimes, downright cruel. Lord Easterly is very upset with his sister for this. In plays the even more devious Lord Stanhope who decides to pursue both ladies after he meets them both at a ball. He is a scoundrel and only looking for money. The back and forth of the two women's relationship, and the uncertain relationship of Charlotte and Graham is quite entertaining. A very sweet, fun, historical romance. No five stars for review because the editing was atrocious in this book. I had to re read many lines over to understand. But all in all, a very delightful love story.

Loved reading the engaging and amazing historical romance story. When Charlotte's brother dies, she stays on at the vicar's house to help with the Wilson's six children. Charlotte's friend, Amanda, takes her in as a servant, and Charlotte discovers she still has feelings for Amanda's brother, an Earl, Graham. Read the highly recommended with captivating characters, wonderfully written, and a must read love story.

Miss Charlotte Browne heard of the death of her brother in the war. He was her last living relative as her father had died sometime before. Now she would have to make her own way. But then she has a chance meeting with a childhood friend, Miss Amanda Easterly, who invites her to join her household as her maid. Her brother, Graham, has returned from war, a war he entered after losing his wife and son leaving him heartbroken. It’s a rocky road for Charlotte, as Amanda puts her down and doesn’t make her life easy. She even spreads rumors that have Charlotte fleeing back to the vicarage to look after the children of the Wilsons.
